RV AC system interior diagnostics and repair in Central Florida

Why It Matters

Your AC Fails in Florida, You Feel It Immediately

Central Florida averages 90+ degree days from May through October. Inside an RV without AC, temperatures can exceed 130 degrees in under an hour. That's not just uncomfortable. It's dangerous for you, your pets, and your electronics.

Most RV AC failures are caused by worn capacitors, dirty coils, or failing fan motors. These are repairs we handle on-site in under two hours. You don't need to tow your rig anywhere.

Common RV AC Problems We Fix

Every RV AC system eventually needs service. Florida's heat, humidity, and constant use accelerate wear on components that would last years in cooler climates. Here are the most common issues we see at campgrounds, driveways, and storage lots across Orlando.

01

Capacitor Failure

The most common RV AC failure in Florida. Run capacitors degrade faster in extreme heat. Symptoms: AC hums but won't start, intermittent cooling, compressor clicks on and off. We carry common capacitor sizes on the van and replace them on-site in under 30 minutes.

02

Fan Motor Replacement

If your AC is running but air isn't moving, the evaporator or condenser fan motor has likely failed. You'll hear the compressor run but feel little to no airflow from the vents. We diagnose which motor is failing and replace it on-site.

03

Dirty or Frozen Coils

Florida's humid air loads the evaporator coil with moisture and debris. A dirty coil restricts airflow, which causes the coil to freeze. You'll see ice forming on the unit or water dripping inside the RV. We clean the coils, check the gasket seal, and verify the shroud is seated correctly.

04

Thermostat & Control Board Issues

If the AC won't respond to the thermostat or cycles erratically, the control board or thermostat may be faulty. We diagnose the electrical circuit from the thermostat to the control board to the compressor contactor. Common on units older than 8 years.

05

Full AC Unit Replacement

When the compressor fails or the unit is 12+ years old with multiple problems, full replacement is the most cost-effective path. We install Dometic, Coleman, and Advent units. Rooftop removal, new unit mount, duct connection, and full system test. Most replacements completed same-day.

RV AC Repair FAQ

Most AC repairs take 1 to 2 hours. Capacitor replacements are under 30 minutes. Fan motor swaps run about 1 hour. Full unit replacements take 3 to 4 hours. We'll give you a time estimate when we diagnose the problem.
Yes. We service RVs at campgrounds, RV parks, storage facilities, driveways, and dealer lots across Orlando and Central Florida. We just need access to the RV and, for rooftop work, enough clearance to safely use a ladder.
If the compressor has failed, the unit is 12+ years old, or you've had multiple repairs in the same season, replacement is usually more cost-effective. For single component failures (capacitor, fan motor, thermostat), repair is almost always the right call. We'll give you an honest assessment.
Common causes: failed run capacitor (compressor can't start), dirty evaporator coil (restricted airflow causes icing), low refrigerant (sealed system leak), or a bad compressor. The fan blows but the compressor isn't cooling. We diagnose the exact cause on-site with electrical testing and temperature measurements.
Yes. Many Class A and larger fifth wheel RVs have two rooftop AC units. We service both and can diagnose which unit is failing. We also work on basement AC units and heat pump systems.
